The ELCA Liturgy
Our worship services follow the biblically based liturgy and hymns of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. On the first and third Sunday of each month, we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion. We invite all baptized Christians who believe that our Lord is truly present in His Body and Blood to join us. Children are invited to come forward for a blessing. In our communion service, we come to kneel at the altar to receive the bread and wine. This service opens with confession and forgiveness, followed by hymns, Bible readings, a sermon, the Apostles Creed, and a congregational prayer.
Come As You Are
Some of our congregation wear suits. Some wear jeans. Some are clean-shaven, and some have shaggy hair and beards. Some have tattoos, some don’t. Our congregation is as varied as our town is, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Come as you are, and celebrate the Good News — in Jesus we find everlasting life and peace.
