Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, which continues with Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and finally Easter Sunday. Christians throughout the world observe Palm Sunday, also known as Passion Sunday. This day inaugurates the most important week of the Christian year, beginning with Jesus’ glorious entry into Jerusalem and ending with his crucifixion and death. Palm Sunday remembers and commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, as crowds gathered around him waving palms and shouting “Hosanna!” In the days following Palm Sunday, the crowd's joyful welcome of Christ changes, and they begin to call for his death.
