JOIN US FOR SUNDAY WORSHIP

9:30am every Sunday

ALL BAPTIZED BELIEVERS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US IN THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION.

Holy Trinity has one worship service every Sunday at 9:30am. For those who are sick or unable to attend, you can still hear the Word as sermons are uploaded onto the church website each week. Every Sunday we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion. We invite all baptized Christians who believe that our Lord is truly present in His Body and Blood to join us to receive the sacraments. Services includes a sermon, Bible readings, a congregational prayer, and psalms. We want everyone to know, whether attending in person or listening on line, that we are still part of the same church body in Christ.

Holy Week Worship

Join us as we continue Holy Week with two GOOD FRIDAY services on 18 April at noon and 6:30pm continue our journey through the three days of Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection. As we return in silence to a barren worship room, we celebrate the wonder and mystery of the cross in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection. At the heart of this service is the passion reading according to John, which celebrates Christ’s victory on the cross. The gospel of John enables us to call this Friday “good,” because it celebrates Christ’s victory on the cross. Jesus’ final words are not ones of desolation, but triumph, “It is finished.” A procession of the cross has been part of Good Friday devotions since at least the fourth century.  We acclaim the cross as the tree of life, for as Christ vanquishes death and evil. The Good Friday service is referred to as a Tenebrae service (meaning ‘shadows’ or ‘darkness’).  The extinguishing of the candles recalls the darkening shadows of Calvary as Jesus’ life was slowly extinguished, as well as the flight and denial of the disciples and friends of Jesus.  We exit the worship area in silence.

On 20 April at 9:30am we will have our annual EASTER worship service. Easter is the day of the resurrection, when after three days Jesus rose from the dead in a celebration of God’s victory over sin and death. Easter Day concludes our Holy Week remembrances that started with Palm Sunday then continued with Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and finally Easter Sunday today.  Easter Day is the day of the resurrection, a joyous celebration of God’s victory over sin and death. Easter is the most important day of the church year. It is the day, after three days, that Jesus rose from the dead. The Bible states that Jesus “was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification” (Romans 4:25). Easter Sunday begins with the shouts of the redeemed, “Christ is Risen. He is Risen indeed.” The exceedingly painful story comes to the amazing joyous ending which truly never ends. It is our day of victory.
